Fireweed

Fireweed is a stunning perennial herb with pinky-purple flowers. It got its common name from emerging after an area was burned.

THAT NAME?
Fireweed was given its name considering its emergence after forest fires. It is also called great willowherb, rosebay willowherb, and bombweed. It's scientific name, Chamaenerion angustifolium, translates to narrow-leaves low to the ground, which describes the appearance of fireweed.
